The Administrative Core is responsible for the annual round of institutional reports, usually due in the Spring. They include progress reports on the NICHD R24, the NIA P30, and the NICHD and NIA T32s, plus any other “common” projects, such as (in the recent past) awards from Fogarty, Hewlett, and Mellon, as well as an annual report to SAS. The Administrative Core also responds to program scientists who are PIs on NIH R01s and similar awards requiring specific information for progress reports. This time-taking process will be abetted to substantial advances that have been made in the design and implementation of information systems to manage data commonly used in grant reporting.
