After completing MPhil in Demography at the University of Cape Town in South Africa, Emmanuel joined Chancellor College, a constituent college of the University of Malawi, as a lecturer in Demography. Prior to joining the University of Malawi, Emmanuel also worked as a Management Information Systems officer in the Malawi’s Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development. During this time he also worked as a Monitoring and Evaluation officer, in an acting position for two and half years. He is part of the team implementing the 2015/16 Malawi Demographic and Health Survey. His research interests focus on the interrelationships between family (including marriage and divorce), fertility, HIV/AIDS, and maternal mortality.
