My name is Masoud Movahed and I am a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Center for Social Norms & Behavioral Dynamics at the University of Pennsylvania. I completed my doctorate in Sociology (with a minor in Public Policy) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. While at the University of Wisconsin-Madison's Sociology Department, I was affiliated with the Institute for Research on Poverty (IRP) and Center for Demography & Ecology (CDE). Broadly, my interests lie at the nexus of social stratification and economic sociology. Most of my research uses computational and quantitative methods, but I retain a keen interest for comparative historical methods. My works have been published in The International Journal of Comparative Sociology, The Journal of International Development, The Sociological Quarterly, Interface: A Journal for and About Social Movements, Harvard Economics Review, Harvard International Review, Foreign Affairs, Boston Review, and Yale Journal of International Affairs. I have also written a few public sociology articles for Aljazeera English and the World Economic Forum.
