The Graduate Group in Demography takes pride in the high completion rate of its graduate students and its success in placing students in professional positions. Recent graduates have entered academic careers on the faculties of Duke University, Princeton University, University of California, University of Chicago, University of Connecticut, University of Michigan, University of Wisconsin, University of Witswatersrand, Pennsylvania State University, Harvard University, Brown University, and other universities.

A significant number of students enter non-academic research careers, positions in business, non-profit organizations, and government agencies. Recent graduates have also begun careers at the World Bank, the RAND Corporation, the United Nations, the U.S. Bureau of the Census, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Merck and Co, Microsoft Corporation, Institute of Statistics Applied Economics, ISAE, World Health Organization Geneva, African Population and Health Research Center, Population Council, and other agencies and organizations.
