NIH Announcement: Who is a New Investigator? In a recent review of how well the NIH was doing in funding new investigators, we discovered that a large share of applications coming into DBSB were submitted by PIs who could have claimed to be new investigators and failed to do so. In light of this, we wanted to share the following link, which explains the guidelines on who is a new investigator. Eligible people are encouraged to claim the designation.
