Before joining Penn Demography, Emmanuel was teaching Migration, Research Methods, and M&E courses at Chancellor College, a constituent of the University of Malawi. He holds a BSc in Demography and Computer Science from the University of Malawi and MPhil in Demography from the University of Cape Town. Emmanuel does not restrict himself to one particular demographic research area. Currently, his research is focusing on family demography and Migration in Sub-Saharan Africa. Previously, he has done some work on fertility and HIV/AIDS.
