My name is Masoud Movahed and I am a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Center for Social Norms & Behavioral Dynamics at the University of Pennsylvania. I completed my doctorate in Sociology (with a minor in Public Affairs) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. While at the University of Wisconsin-Madison's Sociology Department, I was affiliated with the Institute for Research on Poverty (IRP) and Center for Demography & Ecology (CDE). Broadly, my interests lie at the nexus of social stratification and economic and political sociology. More specifically, I study economic inequalities and intergenerational economic mobility, both cross-nationally and within the United States. Most of my research uses computational and quantitative methods, but I retain a keen interest for comparative historical methods. My papers  have been published in the Journal of Industrial Relations (forthcoming), Social Science Research, International Journal of Comparative Sociology, Journal of International Development, Sociological Quarterly, Sociological QuarterlyInterface: A Journal for and About Social Movements, Harvard International Review, Foreign Affairs, Boston Review, and Yale Journal of International Affairs. I have also written a few public sociology articles for Aljazeera English and the World Economic Forum.
