The PSC is a self-governing center housed in Penn’s School of Arts and Sciences (SAS). The PSC Director works with a team of faculty and staff who provide leadership guidance and who advise on center priorities, activities in the center’s training program and primary research areas, and new faculty and staff appointments.
The PSC benefits from longstanding relationships with allied centers at Penn, including the Population Aging Research Center, the Center for Health Incentives and Behavioral Economics (Perelman School of Medicine), and the Boettner Center for Pensions and Retirement Security (Wharton School). Under PSC’s administration, these centers finance the Quartet Pilot Research Project Competition, an annual internal seed grant competition to support new population science research.
In Philadelphia, the PSC and the Public Policy Lab at Temple University have a partnership to promote academic research and training opportunities around policy-relevant population issues with a special focus on demographic change in the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The PSC is also a member of the Philadelphia Federal Statistical Research Data Center (RDC) consortium.
