Speaker Biographies

<p>Megan Reed is a dual PhD student in Sociology and Demography. Her research interests include primary education, gender, and the family in South Asia. Recently, her research has focused on the various dimensions of marriage and widowhood in the Indian context. Before joining the PhD program, Megan worked as the Research Coordinator at the Center for the Advanced Study of India at Penn. She was also a 2012 Fulbright-Nehru Student Research Scholar in India where she studied the impact of seasonal labor migration on children’s education. She received her Bachelor’s degree in International Studies with a focus on development from the University of Arizona in 2012.</p>
