<p>Dr. Choi is a Research Assistant Professor at Internal Medicine, a Faculty Associate at the Institute for Social Research (ISR), University of Michigan, and an Honorary Senior Researcher at University College London (UCL). Dr. Choi was a Fulbright scholar and received a PhD in Economics at the University of Michigan.</p><p>By training, Dr. Choi is a health and labor economist and family demographer. Her research focuses on inter-relationships among health, family care resources and socioeconomic factors. She has been leading multiple projects in this area, funded by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, the National Institute on Aging, and the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development. Dr. Choi is a current recipient of a K01 Career Development Award from the National Institute on Aging (2018-2023), and studies the influence of potential family resources on informal and formal care utilization and related social, health, and economic consequences among older adults with dementia and their caregivers. Dr. Choi also assesses health differences at middle and older ages between the U.S. and England with particular reference to the role of contextual factors.</p>
